For cellist Heather Hay, chamber music is one of the most enjoyable ways to make music. In 1989, it was chamber music that brought Heather to Vancouver to join the Purcell String Quartet. Since moving to Vancouver, Heather has been an active part of Vancouver's music scene. She is Assistant Principal Cellist with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, and performed with the CBC Radio Orchestra. She has also been an invited guest with the West Coast Chamber Music Concerts, Turning Point Ensemble, and for Vancouver New Music. Heather has also been frequently heard on CBC Radio Two's regional programme, Westcoast Performance.

A faculty member at Capilano University for the past 25 years, Heather also maintains a private studio of young and not so young students!
